What services do you offer?

Hive Financial provides personalised advice on budgeting, KiwiSaver, retirement planning, personal insurance, investments, and overall financial planning. We help you understand your options and build a plan that fits your goals and lifestyle.

Who do you work with?

We work with individuals and couples across New Zealand—whether you’re just starting out, looking to improve your finances, or planning for retirement. Based in Taupō, we offer virtual or in-person meetings depending on your location.

Do you charge for your services?

Yes, some services have set fees, and others are commission-based:

  • Budget Coaching: $100/month (min. 6 months)

  • Financial Planning: $1,200 (one-time fee)

  • KiwiSaver Review: $250 (one-time fee)

  • Insurance Advice: No upfront cost – we’re paid a commission by the insurer if you take a policy.

Do you offer one-off advice or ongoing support?

Yes, both! You can book one-off services. However most of our service we provide annual reviews, like with KiwiSaver or financial planning for ongoing support and accountability. We tailor our approach to what suits you best.

How do I get started?

Simply contact us or book an intro call. We’ll chat about what you’re looking for, see if we’re a good fit, and outline the next steps. There’s no pressure and no obligation to commit.

Are you a licensed financial adviser?

Yes. Hayley Robertson is a licensed financial adviser under Hive Financial Limited, which is a registered Financial Advice Provider in New Zealand. We operate in line with the Financial Markets Conduct Act and Code of Conduct for Financial Advice.

Can I meet with you online or in person?

Absolutely. Most clients meet with us online, especially those outside the Taupō region. We also offer in-person meetings where possible.

Do you get paid commissions?

Yes, on insurance products there are upfront and ongoing commissions. If you decide to take out a personal insurance policy, we may receive a commission from the provider. We’ll always disclose this upfront and ensure our advice is based on what’s right for you—not on incentives.

Some KiwiSaver provider pay a small trail percentage to provide advice on you fund. We will always disclose this upfront and ensure our advice is based on what’s right for you.
